Dr. Heidi Golding, DACM, Diplomat of Oriental Medicine, holds both National and State Board Licensure for Traditional Chinese Medicine.  Her passion for healing dates back to experiences with her older sister, Carrie, as she suffered from terminal cancer in their late teens.

After a successful and exciting career in the corporate world, she found she could not let go of her past and needed to transform it.  She decided to channel her grief, anguish and painful experiences into something productive.   She chose to study and gain insight into the healing process through the study of the ancient art of Chinese Medicine, a profound and complete medical system thousands of years old.

Surrounded through her adolescents by patients in pediatric oncology wards, she understands the amazing power of western medicine, as well as its limitations. She sought to create a practice of medicine that takes the mind, body and soul into account.  In the spirit of that vision, Dr. Golding resonates with Samuel Golter of the City of Hope Cancer Center whom coined the phrase, “There is no profit in curing the body if, in the process, we destroy the soul.”  With the deep understanding that each of us has the ability to heal, Dr. Golding works diligently to act as a mere catalyst to set off a cascade of supportive processes in your body to do just that.

Dr. Golding graduated with a Doctorate of Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine from Pacific College of Oriental Medicine (PCOM) in San Diego, California. She has an M.B.A. from Rutgers University and a B.A. in Political Economy from Tulane University. She worked in Washington D.C. on Capitol Hill for Senator Bob Dole, Agriculture Secretary and Congressman Dan Glickman and the Congressional Arts Caucus.  She spent many years at Lucent Technologies/Bell Labs and AT&T working with wireless technology and international business development, product management and sales.   Her time spent in Asia (China, Singapore, Hong Kong, Japan, Bhutan, Thailand) greatly influenced her desire to practice Eastern Medicine.

She specializes in a very gentle Japanese approach to Acupuncture, specializing in integrative pain management, insomnia, pediatrics, orthopedics, stress/anxiety,  oncology patients (all stages) and female issues including PMS, fertility issues, postpartum and menopause. Studying and practicing this ancient art from many different practitioners around the world for almost a decade, many patients often claim they feel almost nothing upon needle insertion.  She has studied with great masters including Masakazu Ikeda Sensei, Shoji Kobayashi of Japan, as well as Giovani Maccioci, one of the most highly acclaimed practitioners in Europe and Daniel Webber of Australia, Vice-Chair Oncology – World Federation of Chinese Medicine Societies.

She has performed clinical rotations at Rady’s Children’s hospital working with children with chronic pain and cancer;  the San Diego Pacific Oncology and Hematology Associates, again working with cancer patients;  UCSD Free Clinic for the homeless and underserved and UCSD RIMAC center for sports medicine and college athletes.   She has studied with Sloan Kettering Cancer institute on Treating Cancer patients with Acupuncture at both at the beginners and advanced levels.

She is a certified mat pilates instructor and has been doing yoga for over 25 years.  She finds it a necessity to continue to work on flexibility after her early years as a serious gymnast attaining All-American status in her youth.   She resides in San Diego with her husband, two active teenagers and black Labrador Retriever.  Her family skis, hikes, rock-climbs and is fond of slot-canyoning.

Dr. Golding is truly honored to be a part of your healing process.
