Did you include some health goals in your 2018 resolutions? Most patients I see start off the year strong with some goals to improve their health. They are usually things like – lose 20 pounds, exercise more, reduce cholesterol, manage stress, etc.
While I admire the ambition and enthusiasm that goes into creating these goals, it can sometimes be followed by a sense of let down or disappointment when results don’t come quickly and easily. I myself have fallen into this trap and felt like a failure before I even made it though January!
Over the years, I’ve learned that one way to attain health goals is to start by getting some measurable health markers. For example, if you’re goal is to lose weight, let’s take a look at some of the underlying causes of an impaired metabolism. Do you have imbalanced cortisol or thyroid levels?
