Banana Berry Smoothie Recipe

At the first sign of warm weather my kids and I start craving smoothies. This is my go-to base smoothie recipe – so tasty and great for all ages.

  • 1 medium organic banana (greener is better for digestive health and blood sugar)
  • 1/2 cup organic frozen blueberries
  • 3 large handfuls organic spinach
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened milk of choice (we use hemp milk)
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened yogurt (we use vanilla Coyo coconut yogurt)
  • 1 scoop Vanilla Pure Paleo protein powder (by Designs for Health, we have this at the clinic)
  • Small amount of water or ice as needed

Add all ingredients to a high powered blender and mix until well combined

With the probiotics in the yogurt and collagen in the protein powder, this is a great recipe for gut health already but you can add in some bonus ingredients if you want to take it to the next level.
Optional add-ons:
1/2-1 inch of fresh ginger and or/turmeric root
Glutamine powder (I like our Glutalomine powder product for gut health)
1/4 avocado
1 TBS coconut oil or MCT oil
1-2 TBS Hemp, flax, or chia seeds for good fats and fiber
Other mild-tasting veggies – carrots, cucumber, baby kale
Handful of fresh mint leaves
